I grew up in a small, conservative town where being Queer was a challenge. As a sensitive and introspective child, I felt othered from my peers. I spent much of time as a child in the company of myself, and found solace in the arts, specifically music. Music, performance, and practice, felt like a place where I could truly be myself. I studied classical music performance at The University of Ottawa in 2016, where I obtained my Bachelors of Music in classical voice.
I found employment in the overlap between arts, culture, hospitality, and nonprofit work. Working as a server for many years had its challenges, but so did working the 9-5 office grind, as did teaching private music lessons. I wore so many proverbial hats, professionally, and personally, I eventually tired myself out, and decided to wear the only hat I hadn’t tried. My own. I committed to doing what I wanted to do, finding great satisfaction in working with others. I graduated from Yorkville University with a Masters in Counselling Psychology, and am a Registered Psychotherapist Qualifying with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
What can you expect from our sessions? An integrated therapeutic approach, drawing from areas such as CBT, narrative therapy, psychoeducation, art therapy, and client centered techniques. Ultimately the core pillars of my practice are respect, authenticity, and empathy. I actively work to ensure a safe, supportive, and comfortable environment, free of judgment. While my clients often reflect similarities in my own identity, I work with clients at all stages in their lives, facing challenges such as self-discovery, sexuality, gender, self-image, neurodivergence, anxiety, and depression.
Together we can establish a solid foundation of self, growing your relationship with yourself, and working towards unconditional and radical self acceptance.
